Map of Tennessee counties with data on individuals and groups. Dark-shaded counties include Williamson (800), Putnam (5709); statewide counts shown.

Patriot Data Graphics (PDG) worked with a statewide suicide prevention network to transform raw data from Excel spreadsheets into visually engaging monthly and annual reports. These reports highlighted important patterns, making it easier for the network to report to state organizations and the Department of Health (DOH) and make data-driven decisions internally.

AT A GLANCE

CUSTOMER CHALLENGES

  • Communicating complex data visually in a digestible way

  • Streamlining the data recording and reporting process

  • Creating comprehensive reports that engaged both community members and stakeholders

HOW PDG HELPED

  • Faster, more informed decision-making by leadership

  • More efficient communication of data to state and federal oversight committees

  • Contributed to securing additional funding by demonstrating program success

OBJECTIVES

The client’s primary goal was to present complex data in a clear, accessible way so that the advisory board, stakeholders, and leadership could make informed decisions about programming and allocate network resources more effectively. The client also needed reports that would help secure future funding by demonstrating program success and identifying areas for improvement.

SOLUTION

PDG streamlined the raw data by developing a tailored process for organizing and counting the information. Using this data, we created a branded report template featuring various infographic elements. These infographics represented the data on both a monthly and year-to-date (YTD) cumulative basis, offering an easy-to-understand visual summary that stakeholders could quickly interpret. Our solution involved applying data storytelling techniques and media design to ensure that the insights were clear and actionable.

BENEFITS

The new reports enabled better decision-making at the leadership level by providing quick insights that were easy to interpret. This helped stakeholders make faster, more informed decisions regarding resource allocation. Additionally, the reports were instrumental in demonstrating the network’s effectiveness, which contributed to securing continued funding from state and national health agencies.
